Bittersweet Memories Poem by mike shaderson

Bittersweet Memories

i thought these times
would never die
time was by my side
but it had to fly
re-occurring flash backs
of the time and place
so vividly clear
that i try to chase
and restore that happiness
and familiar taste
i find peace
through memories that never fade
embrace the time wasted
accept the losses
cause there's always a negative
for every positive
here today and gone tomorrow
when you're so high
you can only go low
i try and let my days unfurl
but in days gone by is where i wallow
all my values are held deep in my heart
embraced by love and safe in it's arms
its a bond that will never be torn apart
it's a sad truth
that burdens upon us
but every thing that shines
turns to rust
and everything that stands in time
turns to dust
i rejoice to my past
even when it haunts me
cause there's nothing i love more
than bittersweet memories
