Blackness Poem by soren Barrett

Blackness

In a fitful fight I spent the night
All my dreams stolen
Another day come, all is done
Body tired, thoughts bruised and swollen
Kidnapped and bound, helpless found
At your mercy in every way
My sacrificial soul has paid the toll
Only now to be thrown away
In the depths of this hell there is a well
From which ink is drawn
On memory's wall delusions I scrawl
Now that you are gone
The tears I cry make this dye
From your image eternal
Without love, no heaven above
Immortality's infernal
Raging out of control my bleeding soul
Tears loose the blemished page
But there's nothing I can do, the memory has bled through
I'm tattooed with your image
For this there's no aid, the dye won't fade
I can't erase you from my mind
It's bittersweet stain does remain
No antidote can I find
As an attempt the venom to vent
This poem was written
But loves illusion has no solution
When ones heart is smitten
