Blind Allusion Poem by Arrogant Bandit

Blind Allusion

Rating: 5.0

Never thought farther than the present, but always knew I would have to let it go. Distracted by the outside world my mind ran busy like after work traffic. Suddenly feelings never felt before rose to the surface. My world was rearranged having thoughts similar to Cobain, but I can’t change this part of me.
Keep quiet no one must know what you harbor inside, it’s not natural and slightly disturbing. Stick to the male stereotype and you will be alright….
I kept those lines in the back of my mind for years, and never felt so empty. Preconceived thoughts on how a man is supposed to behave; find a girl, settle down, and show her around town. Thoughts like these kept me well-behaved, but it wasn't real. Losing more of myself each day, the lies had to end. Slowly remembering the first time I kissed a girl, I waited for fireworks to spark, but after I felt nothing it left me in a hazed. Five years later I came to terms with being gay.

Nice and well articulated piece of poetry written with insight. The innermost sexual feelings of a gay person well depicted in the poem. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. ➕10
