Blindness & Confusion Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Blindness & Confusion

Rating: 5.0

Is anything ever clear?
Was the love you shared unreal?
I am confused until now
I thought I felt you cared somehow
Was it pretense that was in your eyes?
And your touch nothing but lies?

I wonder if you ever felt
How in your gaze I slowly melt
I try to memorize your face
Fantasize about your taste
I wonder if you ever knew
That my love for you is true

I must’ve been ensorcelled by your charms
A willing prisoner in your arms
Or maybe I just imagined it
Feel everything as I see fit
Slowly I turn in a blind eye
Not minding reason, not minding rhyme

I guess I had wanted it to be real
Did not even bother if things are clear
Confused fondness with true love
Believed that you did care somehow
Blinded by the sparkle in your eyes
Caught up in my own web of lies
