It was a white-out sure as I was standing there
A prisoner in the middle of a storm
My camera snapping right and left
It was the kind that could certainly do harm.
I could barely see across the road
So thick in the air it came
Covering everything in its path
Nothing about it was tame.
And underneath this blanket of snow
Was where ice and sleet began
Stay in your home, officials announced
Not fit for beast or man.
Everything was closed for a time
Not just kids home from school
If you ventured out unnecessarily
Why, you might be considered a fool.
You shouldn’t drive, but if you must
Take it slow and careful, my friend
For cars were going every which way
At times couldn’t even make a bend.
Yes, it’s a blizzard we’ll not soon forget
Please, we pray, make it go away
Of course nothing lasts forever
So we’ll be waiting for a spring like day!
