Blood Tells A Tale Poem by Marlena Rose

Blood Tells A Tale

Rating: 5.0

Red runs down
A pale white arm
Morbid fascination
Eyes linger too long

It feels so good
When razors cut skin
Flesh splits
Can't keep the blood in

Emotional pain
Dying inside
Physical pain
Listen to the cries

'So much to live for.'
'Don't throw your life away'
'Don't do it anymore'
'It will be okay'

Blood tells a tale
Show how you feel
Need to let them know
Depression is real

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a poem that grants the reader a look inside my mind when I am depressed and cutting. I wrote it just today (8-7-2012) . I am not currently depressed but I have struggled with it since I was 8 years old. I strongly encourage anyone having depressed or suicidal feelings to seek help immediately. Every time I feel the urge to cut, I tell someone. Please tell someone.
