Bloody Grass Poem by Scarlett Charlotte

Bloody Grass

I lay staring at the sky engaging with fantastic shapes,
Dragons, monsters, children crawl across surreal 'scapes.
It's peaceful here; I've peace at last,
I think I'll lie amongst the grass
I'm warm and dry inside my skin
The very thing I was born in
And others too, have been stripped bare,
But no one's watching, no one cares,
Our backs are stiff, our arms are sore,
But we have peace within our core.

The men came soon, and bore away,
Our bodies on the break of day
And buried us in tainted mud,
For we left footsteps wrought in blood.

Interesting Scarlett, Seems to be saying getting high from a trip, dying and war perhaps all combine into one. The struggle to stay alive but peace and acceptance of death will float you up and away. A poem that makes you think for sure.
