Blue Jay Meals Poem by Marilyn Lott

Blue Jay Meals

They planted the seeds
All over the place
And soon there was
No longer a space.

They plucked each seed
Out one by one
New ones were ripened
Under the summer sun.

But it is near autumn
The seeds at their peak
So one by one
Each one they would sneak.

Of course they fought
For they never will share
They battled those delicious
Seeds with such care.

And here, my friends
Is a sunflower that feels
Like an empty shell
Used for Blue Jay meals!
