Blueberry Pancakes Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Blueberry Pancakes

Blueberry Pancakes

He loved to eat the blue sky
Because he thought they were blueberry pancakes
He munched on the clouds
Thinking they were cotton candy.

He thought the autumn leaves were
Orange sherbet
And the red rose
Was a serving of ketchup.

He realized that the surf
Was a vanilla milkshake
And the soft and gooye sand
A mocha milkshake.

But he didn't know what
Flavor the rose thorns were.
So he didn't even try eating them.
Then he didn't want to even touch them.

He then ate all the lawn grass
And tasted them as salad,
And the moist mud as
Chocolate fudge delicious.
