Blues Poem by Ma Aileen Canizares Salibay

Blues

Dawdling around a place on a hump day
Where everything was blue
And a deafening silence is all you hear
Feels like whimpering in a sepulcher

The cheerful yesterday
Full of stories and adventures
Lingered in me impishly
As the air of nonchalance embraced me.

I sprawled on the floor
And stared blankly at a corner
As I tried to recall
those who delighted my soul.

Moments were dull
And I felt cold
It felt like something dragged my soul
Down to Hades's world

The paths were confusing.
The signs were alluring.
Hundreds were those I had to juggle.
But sure they're part of this struggle.

So I'd better keep going
Because this path is challenging
And I, alone, hold the right key
To unravel this path's mystery.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Blue is not my favorite.I do not like to feel it either in some days, but there are times that I really have to because blue is a part of a beautiful rainbow in life.
