You may not think I tell the truth,
but I was on the job that day
and saw poor Gene, sister of Joe,
lay down the hose and walk away.

She left Wes there. He looked quite numb.
Erstwhile, he'd been a most dear love.
Then I heard Anna hum a tune.
She brews the tea and feeds the dove.

I cannot judge, so I won't say
what I am thinking, (such a shame!)
I won't remark on how John acts.
Let Lulu keep eternal flame.

Give Sophi lemons for her tea,
give Jon a heaping jar of jam,
especially, let Jud explain
why I said Chez ran into Sam.
