Boomerang Poem by Michelle Carter Douglass

Boomerang

I idly sit by and take my time as I sip me a little wine
mmmm
You are so quick to plot and talk childish and hateful things
Let me put this eloquently
You do not own me or my things
Boomerang

What you all say about me
let that be a bitter taste
in your mouths

The storm you try to bring my way
may last for a day or two
But the ditch you are digging for me
mmmm
Boomerang

I put God and Christ first in my life.
How about you?
You call me this and that- but I raised my kids.
How about you?

I calmly sit by and take my time as I sip me a little wine
mmmm
You are so quick to plot and talk some ignorant and hateful things
Let me put this spiritually
"No weapon formed against me shall prosper."
But the weapons you form for others shall boomerang.

A well articulated piece of poetry nicely brought forth from the heart. A witty reflection on the law of retributive justice. Thanks for sharing Michelle.
