Bored, Bored, Bored. Poem by Karen Pumfrey

Waiting at the surgery
People coughing over me
Kids fidgeting on seats
Not much to do or see

Pamphlets on incontinence,
diabetes, breast feeding
Finally my name, escape,
that's what I'm seeking!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Having two small children I have spent far too much time in doctor's surgery. It is one of the few places where I would be quite happy if I never went again. I wrote this after one particularly lengthy, bum numbing wait.
