Boygirl Poem by Renee Maritz

Boygirl

Rating: 4.7

Every morning, his face, the only sight I wish to see.
Better hurry now, can't let her get away from me
It's like he's pulling me and I got to obey
She's mine today, no more running away

It's a routine; we've been doing this for so long
Right at her side, that's where I belong

He's looking at me with that calm morning blue eyes
Her smile even more beautiful than the brightest sunrise
Still holding my gaze, he's walking towards me
I'm in a trance, is this an angel I see?

Can't get the words out, I'm struggling to speak
Girl, here it goes, finally today we truly meet
His lips starting to move, what does he say?
The first word, very casually I just smile and say… HEY!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
