Boys Don'T Belong In Girls Bathrooms

Rating: 3.0

she wanted to go home, he wanted another dance
they compromised, oh, what a surprise what happens next
it's not how she imagined, but she thinks they have something here
he's just taking advantage, he plans to disappear, come morning.

it all started a month ago, when she walked in a door
to see her boyfriend of four long years, in bed with another one
she acted as any typical girl would,
she was strong up front, but in the long run,
she was hurt and scared, she had nowhere to go,
he was everything she'd known, she's alone,
and now she's wondering, did he even love me?

she's looking for something, looking for anything,
looking for someone to love her,
she wants a second chance, and she dreams of being swept off her feet in romance
she takes every opportunity she gets,
and every time, the same thing happens all over again,
every time she thinks is the time, it's just another devastation,
every new boy, she swears butterflies, butterflies
but it's just another boy, full of lies, full of lies
she says she loses herself in all of their eyes
it's just her vulnerability
and telling this story is killing me
yeah, i hate to watch her go

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is not a very good poem. There are two things all poems need to do. This poem doesn't do either one. A poem needs a beginning. By having a title which is not related to the poem, this one is deprived of an essential element. Second, a poem needs an ending. This one has no ending to speak of. So, the most important parts of any piece of writing are not there. A shame. GW62
