Forget fair breakfast of fish— instead,
Today we'll have to make do with bread.
Thank God for small mercies,
Man a litter-bug is,
Let men not, we do for morrows dread.

Two seagulls were flying over sea coast of Kuwait City skimming bits of floating bread from Gulf waters, their normal breakfast of fish nowhere in sight. This limerick is imagining the thoughts in their minds. Man seems not, but birds are more apprehensive of the looming morrows, what with the prevailing pollution.

A brilliant Limerick is amazingly presented by you dear Pathak sir. Thanks for sharing with Poet's Note.10
Yea, I thought without the notes it may not be as clear as it should be. Thanks for lovely words and rating dear KM.
beautiful description about the picture// beautiful limerick
Yes indeed, I saw the picture and its narrative came to my mind. You're absolutely right, dear MB

I would like to translate this poem
Man is not concerned about the escalating pollution and the death of many species of creatures. But birds and beasts have greater intuition of what is going to happen in the near future. A meaningful limerick with an excellent image to match with it!
Your analysis is always spot on, many of my limericks try and make the readers think and read what is left unsaid. Thanks dear poet.
