Break Up Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Break Up

Rating: 5.0

Break up

I m sorry my space in your bed is now empty,

but what's happened is not something i could preempt.

My mind left you before my feet took the first step.

I been leaving you mentally since the last time we met.

I m glad, though, that we are both unshackled,

because, it seemed our tenuous love was based on being hackled

I m sorry Cupid's arrows have been blown off course by my temptress,

who came with sweet gales of love like the tempest,

and blew me off my feet to land in her king size bed.

I do not understand why you failed to suture my heart when i bled,

now its so empty of my love for you it cannot be salvaged.

I know this sounds primitive and savage,

but, I have fallen on a soft bed of roses not made for you.

I am walking away hand in hand with someone new.

Love comes and goes! Once you realize that the lover at hand is not compatible, you leave her and go for another. It is human....! The break up is realistically presented in lovely verse.
