Breathe Poem by Billy Juergens

Breathe

I sat down with you,
Watched the silence grow;
It ate the air as we breathed,
As the colors began to fade
Out of the room, dripping down
To smears on the ground
Where we no longer cared.

To the garden of thought
We came and went,
Opting for the linking
Of the hands, and
The sterile, beating heart.
