Breathe No Air Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Breathe No Air

You lean back into my arms,
your back pressed to my chest.
Surely you can feel my heart racing.
The saddest of songs play,
in the dark we sit.
Naked, our bodies just tangled together.
You sing along as I slide my hands around you.
Kissing your back and shoulders,
I wonder what life would've been like,
had we never met.
You turn your head to tell me as Boyce Avenue,
'If I should die before I wake It's cause you took my breath away, losing you is like living in a world with no air'.
My eyes melt to yours.
Softly I press my lips to yours,
and share one of the sweetest kisses.
How could I break such a heart?
How could I breathe such a dream?
You make me want to believe in love.
