Brevity Poem by Karen Lee

Brevity

Like flashes of lighting
Like roll of thunder
You were here
Then gone
Before I knew it

I wanted you to stay
But, I knew I have to let you go

It has been some time now
A distant memory
To me now

You try to find your way back
I laughed
Really, not shocked

Once bitten
Twice shy
Let me live my life!

You had your chances!
You are now a thing of the past.
One that is like a withered grass.
