Bridges Poem by Nola Jazz

Bridges

Rating: 5.0

To the alluring unaware,
To the enticing ignorant,
My efforts shall not be wasted.
The mountain of insecurities
Is one I wish not to climb.
Scaling is not the dilemma,
Just my ever-fleeting attention span.
A physical vessel aesthetically pleasing to the naked eye,
But my attenuated vision rescues the anatomy from additions.
Freed from embellishments and void of defensive mechanisms.
This is not a conceptualized example of beauty.
This is the epiphany I’ve feared for so long.
No forced limits…no barriers…just You.
So much potential locked away in a closed heart.
Such a shame.
I could’ve made a better you.
Excuse my narcissistic tendencies,
But to current and future scions of oblivion:
“You are my Bridge ”.
Put simply, a fabricated perceived essence,
Or a majestic artificial rainbow to get over the remains of a thunderstorm.
Our tedious conversations will replace the emotional addiction patches.
The act of fornication will substitute the Deadly touch.
This isn’t sex…this is therapy.
A selfish act.
It subconsciously blinds the unenlightened
To my ulterior motives.
So shout-out to the beautifully unsuspecting.
You are definitely necessary.

To the Bridges...
