Bring Troops Home Poem by Ryan Alchakaki

Bring Troops Home

Bring them HOME
To the warmth of tenderness
To those who they love
Bring them where they belong
And where they ever flourish
Bring them HOME
And they have life to esteem
To grow and cherish
They're meant to protect
To serve
To defend
To build, and
To treasure the values we nourish
Free those who need to be.
Bring troops home
'To kill or be killed',
Is a mountainous challenge
To stay there will not perish
Let the EGO come back to earth
Humans won't see it up flying too high
As it expands, it may one day vanish
The fame that the Nation made
Earnings of over two centuries,
Only for one more age ..
… To be - by one voice - relished
Let not the colors we stand for
The colors we treasure
The norms we hold dear
Become - in sights of the world - garish
Tough is to make the future shine
To rise, to fly
To nutrify the character
To have what we earned as flawless polish
