Broken Bond Poem by Liz Eckel

Broken Bond

Why things like this happen
I'll never know,
But this time
I'm letting go.

Whose fault this is
who is there to blame,
I'm the person to hate
with a neverending flame.

When did the tragedy start,
the only thing I know is that
our worlds are growing apart.

Where did all this hatred come from,
I think all of this drama is really dumb.

Best friend, that's what I thought,
Until the bond was broken and now
we are in distraught.

I love that man
couldn't you see,
I guess you were blinded
and had to make it a scene.

I should've known nothing like this
would last so long,
But I had thought the bond to be
so strong.

Well when I'm six-teen
love won't matter,
Because my heart had
already shattered.

[I had the wrong story, I was mad for the wrong reason, so this is fiction]
