Broken By Misery Poem by Moth Harris

Broken By Misery

Do you remember where you put your heart?
It hasn't been missing at all, for all this time you've searched.
Can't you see that it's right here in my hands, where you left it.
I guess it would be hard to see, me being so far away.

This is not the end, no.
How dare you tell me so.
I would never let you go.
Tell me that's not something
You didn't know.

It's a cold dark world eclipsed by lies and hate.
Misery lurks in the shadows where you cannot see.
It's a shame how blind, it is the light of love that can set you free.
Don't let me slip into the shadows, eclipsed by lies and hate.

This is not the end, never.
This was supposed to last forever.
You can't see it's my heart that's severed
but you cherish it still
through this terrible weather.

It's what you can't see behind the thoughts, we all still care.
It's a priceless fragile heart that you've thrown in the air.
We've all felt distant, but we've all been right here.
Tell me that when you close your eyes it's not me you feel.
