Broken Love Poem by Alexander Duvenage

Broken Love

Rating: 4.0

I think about you now
And keep wondering how
The one that was my light
Could leave me in the darkness of the night

I search but cannot find
The one who left me behind
You were here but now you're gone
To me you were the moon, stars and sun

I don't think I'll ever forget
Any of the words you've said
It'll haunt me always
Till the end of my days

The leaves of my tree are bare
And being alone is the greatest scare
It was love at the start
But then you left and ripped out my heart

What you did to me you never saw
Clawing my heart, making it raw
My heart is poisoned, stabbed, burnt
To its normal state it cannot be returned

I wish it could be paused
The pain you've caused
To bare one moment more
The pain in the core
Of my body, mind and soul
Only love again can make it whole
