Broken Silence Poem by Asma Khan

Broken Silence

Rating: 5.0

Even when you were gone
the sea remained calm
snowflakes of broken
dreams gathered on my palm

As darkness rolls in
consuming everything I know
poison of dead memories
begins to kill me slow

Bittersweet days' pain
cuddled my courage
dissolving fear into faith
by recalling the damage

what's the point in
living if it isn't with you
watering hopes in lands of
heartless buds that never grew

wipe out the fear for
what you held on to me
nothing remains with you
till you set yourself free

What's the difference if
I dreamt with or without you?
I conquered everything
you cut my way through

Gone are the days when
I waited for your arrival
Time's golden sand is
in my pocket now for revival

Come may what you ever
gave away
It happens for sure
even if with a little delay
