Bronze Age Bravo Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Bronze Age Bravo

Rating: 0.5

Battlefield prowess
clash of metal on flesh and bone
gusts of wind carrying the cries of young men
on the plains outside Troy

Achilles,
born of sea goddess Thetis
and Greek king Peleus,
blazed a path
through hordes of Trojans
gusts of wind carrying the cries of vanquished warriors
as Achilles struck the foe and laid them low

Silence on the field when Achilles fell
gusts of wind carrying the smoke of pyres burning
and a low moan in the pines
