Even from far off in the distance
Across a grassy field of brown
You can see with the huge Buffalo
With little babies swarming ‘round
A light brown they are in color
Adorable they are to see
When I stop along the roadside
My heart skips inside of me
The momma’s roving eyes
Watches across the way
Protecting the precious calves
So they’ll be safe another day
In Yellowstone I’ve so enjoyed
Driving along the road
And waiting as moms and calves
Slow down traffic as they strode
They seem to have such confidence
It really makes me laugh
To watch the enormous mothers
With their delightful Buffalo calves!
