Build Me A Boat



build me a boat
do not paint it
let it just be the most natural
color of wood
the glow of mahogany

build me this boat
and i shall sail on it one night
when the sea is so calm
i shall put nothing in there
not a paddle
or a rudder

build me this boat that will take me
to my own world
away from you
