Building Castles In Air
necklace tight against my throat
every quick breath
swallow
felt even more
the car ride is silent
creeping suspicion
that this is happening again
fingers close the dark space
grasping for mine
nausea ensues
and this feels familiar
it's not real
I focus on breathing
my voice doesn't feel my own
I numbly force it out anyways
the world spins
constant movement
the twitching of your fingers
brings me back down
my eyes never meet with yours
this whole time
afraid I'll betray myself
just friends
the night echoes
just friends
