Bullying The Bellicose Belly Poem by David Adeniyi

Bullying The Bellicose Belly

Bullying, a cruel and vicious act,
Bellicose, demonstrating aggression,
The belly, soft and round and warm,
A site that often feels lonely.

A tyrant it can be,
Devouring every morsel,
Roaring and rumbling in anger,
Growling and gurgling angrily,
When it's not fed constantly.

It rumbles and grumbles,
And causes us distress,
Demanding to be filled,
With nutriment of all kinds,
Forgetting who's in control.

But belly must remember,
Who's in charge,
We must not give in,
To its every needs and want,
Cause we know too much,
Will only cause us cadaverous.

For bullying the bellicose belly,
Will only breed more pain,
And leave a mark that never fades,
Like a permanent stain.

So let's be kind and gentle,
To this part of who we are,
And let our love and compassion,
Heal the wounds that mar.
