But How... Poem by Lacey UnKnown

But How...

Rating: 2.1

You say you know what's best for me
But how could you know what that might be
You claim that I'm selfish and I don't care
But how do you know if you're never there
You tell me that I am too young to decide
But you don't really know what goes on in my mind
Why won't you listen, why don't you hear
I want you to see that I really do care
You're wrong, I'm not too young to decide
I know just where my loyalties lie
The lie with my friends and classmates, sure
But at the end of the day family always comes first
So next time you think I'm too young or don't care
Just hold your tounge and try to be fair

For my parents
