But Really Poem by Noah Ohler

But Really

I could sing you 'I don't want...'
or a beatles love song
but I'll stick to my own rhyme
play the tricks and work the time

But really,
In my eyes, beauty's lost and told a lie
given hints and made us cry
held my tounge, held my own hands
back on a late night ride
listen for the click and hear you sing
a pretty song that could lay me to sleep
got a little trouble going here and there
keep your eyes open, bury me deep in there

But really,
Unlace my shoes and hide them away
'cause I don't wunna leave here come the next day
a lovely face that's caught in my stare
without it, to find myself I can only ask where

But really,
Now I may be only fooling myself
and some say third time's a charm
with little luch on my shoulders, keep growin' older
Simple things don't seem to cut it anymore
and I'd stand out in the rain
rain drops substitute for pain
so I can see your face see mine
then I could tell you that I'm fine
