I’ve just got back from shoppin’
I can’t believe my luck
I’ll tell you how it started
And the chance that I just took
I went in for the simple things
Some bread, a loaf, and milk
When this woman walked towards me
Blue eyes and skin of silk
I stepped aside to let her
Walk by me in the aisle
She never said a word to me
All she did was smile
Now I don’t know if you’ve felt this
The pounding in your chest
It’s like no other feeling
Puts your ticker to the test
So around the shop I glided
I was floating on a cloud
I thought of all the things to say
The things to say aloud
I tried to keep my distance
But I couldn’t let her go
I had to share my feelings
I wanted her to know
Should I pick up flowers for her
And as we go to pay
I would stop and hand them over
And this is what I’d say
“I’ve never felt like this before
For me this is a first
But the way you made me feel just now
Has satisfied a thirst”
“My heart and soul have woken
For years they were asleep
So I’d love to wrap them up for you
For they are yours to keep”
Well the years rolled by since shopping
But I still go to that store
The best thing that I found in there
Is mine for ever more
As time went by we married
She’s the only one for me
So next time you go shopping
Buy one, get one free.
