If only I lived near the sea
I'd stroll the shore
so gracefully
Feeling the sand between my toes
With thoughts in my head
Nobody needs to know
I'd feel the sun
Upon my skin
At least I'd feel something
For there's nothing with-in
See the shells on the beach?
Some are whole, yet hollow
Some are broken & shattered
I am just as these shells
Oh hell, what does it matter?
The tide rolls in & embraces me
As it carries me out to sea
This is my final flight
It is my destiny
I am weak, I must give up the fight
So I begin to sink into the dark salty depths
As I give up my final last breaths
Then the sharks come
And devour my flesh
My spirit watches and feels at peace
For now I know I'll live on
From generation to generation
Though not on land
You can never take me by the hand
But if you want to be with me
Simply come and wade in the sea
For there my presence will forever be
by me: 2004
