Byrn Poem by Sophia White

Byrn

Fierce impassioned flame
Set to byrning
Heart blazing wild
Spirit chyrning
Fledgling me for flight
Sorely yyrning
Still just a child
Lost in lyrning

Wyrds can’t be preached
‘Till they’re lyrned
Wyrds can’t be lyrned
‘Till their hyrd
Still I am fettered
Lyrning wyrds
Wanting fierce to fly
With the byrds.

Dampened time I fear
Will soon spyrn
The brilliant vibrant flames
Set to byrn
And to lesser byways
I will tyrn
Long before I have time
To lyrn!

A little OBSESSED with assonance here are we? ? I like it, gives a poem more depth, but I understood none of the story when I first read it-which is in a way good because it then it keeps its interest when you read it again, but to the casual reader this could have a damping effect. -stupi...ahem...landrey
