Cactus Mouse - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Cactus Mouse - Lincoln Park Zoo

I am a cactus mouse, I am
A brownish cute little fur ball.
Averaging twenty some gram,
Add my tail and I'm twice as tall.
Distinguished by my naked heels
That help me scurry through the night.
Desert seeds are my fav'rite meals.
Chewing stuff is such a delight.
Lincoln Park Zoo Small Mammal House
Gives me shredded paper for fun.
I chomp it like a crazy mouse,
Paperless after I am done.

Chew and spit it in my own way,
Making sort of paper mouseche.
