Caged

Certain of what I want
Sure of how I feel
Determined of making it work
But how to go about it
How to get t into motion

I'm like a caged bird
Fish in a bowl
Boxed shrew
No freedom
No space
I have to find a way out

Stupid to fall prey
Dump to fall victim
Idiotic to be naive
That was me

Now its up to me
to break free and sing with in the wind
swim in the ocean deep
scamper across the forest floor

its all up to me to be free......

Poem of the Day

poet Oliver Wendell Holmes

Life is real, life is earnest,
And the shell is not its pen –
“Egg thou art, and egg remainest”
Was not spoken of the hen.
