Caged Sparrow Poem by G J Salgado

Caged Sparrow

A breathtaking masterpiece trying to find its way home,
Born from a different breed that prefers to be alone.

As she grows the years continue to pass her by,
A young bird yearning to break free and fly.

She begins a life of her own just to be free,
After leaving the nest she realizes this is not who she wants to be.

But it is far too late for her dreams to come true,
Without hopes of a destination with nothing else left to do.

In a happy ending turned tragic the last thing that she sees before she dies,
Is the pure evil that dwells in the last seconds of her heart beat when she looks into her killer's eyes.
