Call me a modern Indian English poetess,
Apart from being a poetess
I am modern,
Frank, bold, adventurous and daring,
Well-to-do,
Propertied and moneyed.
See my Bobby-cut hair,
The curls hanging over,
The powdered and creamed face,
How beautiful am I to look at,
How charming and loving,
Cute and fine!
Is is a hushed matter
That the Ph.D. supervisor
Had been my own
And I had been his mistress,
Yea, the ramshackle Ph.D. guide
Of the ramshackle Indian Englsih Ph.D. stuff.
