Calling America, Still There? Poem by Sandra Feldman

Calling America, Still There?

Going backwards
Like cowards,
Sideways,
Like crabs,
Destruction of values
Dishonesty,
Slaps our onerous
Backs,
We seem doomed
As a Nation,
Not disapproving
Heinous and
Disgraceful Acts,
Shame, shame on
Us,
We were great
While it lasted
Now suicidal,
And a dim dark
Shadow,
Of our hard working
And glorious
Past.
