Camouflage 2 Poem by Saiom Shriver

Camouflage 2

In kingdoms of camel raj
with long queues
in the entourage
often the camouflage
is a sandstorm
or desert mirage

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
raj: rule

Roman shipbuilders and other tree destroyers through centuries created the Sahara Desert which has continued to advance in size.
The sandstorms of the Sahara were so violent
in the past that Bahamian stalagmites
register a thin red lion from the iron in the sand.
