Can Of Worms. Poem by Ishola Oreofe

Can Of Worms.

Rating: 4.5

They said You opened up a can of worms which she kept sealed.

They said You broke open a healing wound,

you put her in turmoil, you set her spinning round and round again on a roller coaster of emotions, all this you heard from hushed tones.

Then the hushes become clearer, just like always he left her to bear the pain, the hurt, uncertainty, confusion as some even flirted with the idea of, if she wondered what if your life ended as fast as she pressed harder on the cold blade dripping with regret, puddles of sorrow forming at their feet, with a face void of expression, just a blank cold cold figurine.

For they said the can of worms you set free eat her up eventually.

Lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned in good poetic diction with conviction. Thanks for sharing Ishola.
