Can'T Be Scared Poem by Pete Rivera

Can'T Be Scared

I saw you walk by
And didn't even smile
Already had a guy
And a child for awhile
But only God can judge
So I won't waste my time
Watching people
Hurt you so much all the time

So I propped up a bed
In the middle of the street
And called you at midnight
To get a chance to meet up with
The girl who used to occupy my mind
All the time
I thought she was what made
The galaxy shine

Can you believe it?
Or do you have to see it?
Oh, I'm just a shadow on the street
Watching cars go by I saved you a seat

And I'm not frightened
I'm not frightened
Better know
That I'm not frightened
Not at the least bit

The chardonnay tastes
Just a little bit different
Life is like a roller-coaster
And I'm here just to live it
I wonder
Does it matter you're not here
To enjoy the music
Television and beer

Don't try to slow me down
I know what to do
I know every word
I'm gonna sing to you
Am I afraid you'll leave again?
No, I'm afraid it might just end
But what am I saying
Have I gone insane
Is there anyway I can get
Out of these chains
Back so I can see you now
And I bet you wonder how

I'm not frightened
I'm not frightened
You know
I'm not frightened
Not at all
Not at the least bit
