Carlos Delgado Poem by Francis Duggan

Carlos Delgado

The one without sin ought be first to cast the stone
And the one with courage stands there all alone
A silent figure before the jeering crowd
For his principles he refuses to be cowed.

Carlos Delgado is more than a great Baseball player
For Iraq's war victims he is one who truly care
Against war and oppression one unafraid to speak
At a time when it is easy to be weak.

Good on you Carlos of yourself you can feel proud
The leadership of one can grow into a crowd
He has principle and humanity on his side
And for his anti war stand he is known Worldwide.

He makes a stand where angels fear to thread
And by his good example the great man has led
Enough of war he has been known to say
He surely is one of the great men of Today.
