Out of the darkness
Into the light
Comes she galloping
Into the daylight

A marvelous sight
It is to see
Carola riding
With the sun
Rising in the east

Carola is 19
So is Jimmy
And they both ride
Every morning
From the mountains
To the sea

Jimmy Jimmy
Don't jump so high
You will break your bones
So will I

As carola
Grew 23
So did Jimmy
And left her
One fine morning
To the gods above
You see!

Carola cried
Like rain that day
To have lost a friend
Who took her
For a ride every day

Mornings were Never
The same for carola
Any more

And she never forgot Jimmy
As years passed on
Till she also left
To the gods above
You see!

Now they ride
Every morning you see
Again from the mountains
To the sea

And people can hear
Jimmy galloping
Just before dawn
All Along the sea
