Black as the night shining bright
Along the highway of life
Littered a thousand boxes
Of different size.
And as colorful as rainbows
They lined
Waiting for their time.
Inside them straddled tight
Wrapped in clothes warm and bright
Were the Lord's children
Waiting with eager
To reach their home as far as
Memories could stretch back in time.
Trees that glittered bright
In cozy rooms
And in porches as equally alive.
Waited for their arrival
For the festivities to begin.
For Christmas is here
In cities and towns
Far and close
And merry goes the jingle
Once again
For the good Lord is
always close.
