Carrot Cake Poem by Ima Ryma

Carrot Cake

The best carrot cake ever made,
My Grandma had the magic touch.
Each cake was a loving crusade
Made from scratch, Grandma went to such
Efforts with her arthritic hands
To make with tender loving care
And patience perfection demands,
Always a masterpiece to share.
From her garden fresh carrots came,
Grated and added to the mix
As star, giving the cake its name.
The batter, oft times I got licks.

The most delicious food intake -
That first bite of my wedding cake.
