Carry Me Home Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Carry Me Home

Rating: 5.0

Without a direction
For each way seems wrong,
With nowhere to wander
No place I belong,
In search of the answer
To questions unknown,
But I am so lost Lord
Please carry me home.

I long to be with you
I've nowhere to turn,
The lesson of living
Is so hard to learn,
And I cannot make it
When I'm all alone,
For I am so lost Lord
Please carry me home.

With so much confusion
I stumble and fall,
I'm moving in circles
Awaiting your call,
I'll follow your light now
The way you have shown,
I'm no longer lost Lord
So carry me home.

You have shown deep emotion with this poem Andrew. I think it would make a wonderful title for a song, prayer or film. You are reaching out to find the way and in so doing, have found it (I think almost) in the last stanza. It keeps going around in my head, and if a poem does this, it is great work. 10 Karin Anderson

Love the repetition of the refrain that concludes each verse and the emotion and musicality of the poem. It reads like the lyrics of a hymn. Finely crafted poem. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
