Cast Down Poem by Josh Blight

Cast Down

Do you even dare look in the sky,
see the endless night?
Do you even dare open your eyes,
see the eternal fight?

A bitter struggle of life and death
only ends when there is nothing left.
A void...complete emptiness,
an unending reign of silence.

REALITY LOST! ! !

A mocking laugh...no, I cant!
An anguished scream...what does it mean?
A tortured cry...please let me die.

A swirling mass of vague colors
begins to form a vague image,
remembrances of things long past.
Into despair your soul is cast.

Abruptly, it all fades into darkness,
leaving you feeling as though
just awakened from a dream.

You laugh-You cry

You open your eyes and scream,
for the darkness fades not.

You realize in horror
it was your own voice you heard.
It is true, youve been cast down,
left to face your demons
in a world where only hate is found.
